đď¸Coworking Values Podcast
The second-best coworking podcast in the world.
(We have not won any awards.)
This is your permission slip to stop pretending your coworking space needs to be the next WeWork and start celebrating what it actually is - a place that gives a damn about its neighbourhood.
You get conversations that matter.
Coworking community builders talking about real challenges.
No venture capital fairy tales, no âdisruptionâ nonsenseâjust the messy, essential work of building spaces that serve people, not profit margins.
What Youâll Find Here
Honest conversations about real challenges.
We explore the five coworking valuesâcommunity, openness, collaboration, accessibility, and sustainabilityâthrough conversations with operators, researchers, and innovators who are building something meaningful.
Practical insight from the field.
From managing operational overwhelm to designing truly inclusive spaces, every episode offers wisdom for people running community-focused spaces who prioritise impact alongside sustainability.
Peer connection and support.
The hardest part of running an independent space isnât the Wi-Fi or the coffeeâitâs feeling isolated.
This podcast connects you to coworking community builders across the UK and Europe to âthe rest of the worldâ and North America who share similar values and challenges.
Whoâs Behind This?
Right, so Emily and Bernie started this project back in 2013 as part of OuiShareâs Sharing Economy Radio.
What began as documenting the sharing economy evolved into something more focusedâconversations about coworking as a form of civic infrastructure.
I say âco-founderâ because thatâs how these things actually work, isnât it?
Željko, Tash, Jose, and Tony have all hosted episodes over the years. The best conversations occur when diverse voices bring their own networks and perspectives to the table.
Beyond the Podcast: Unreasonable Connection
Every month, we host what we call the âworldâs smallest coworking eventââUnreasonable Connection.
Itâs an online networking event for people who dislike networking, specifically designed for owner-managed coworking spaces and community builders who are tired of fighting alone.
Hereâs how it works: we throw everyone into small rooms of three or four people. No pitches, no sponsors, no secret squirrels.
Just an honest conversation about whatâs working, whatâs not, and whateverâs keeping you up at night about running your space.
Itâs deliberately informal, deliberately small, and intentionally focused on peer support rather than business development.
Think of it as the antidote to awkward networkingâa place where you can talk honestly about the highs and lows of community building with people who actually understand what youâre going through.
Because sometimes you need to find the others and be seen.
What to Expect
Episodes are published regularly, accompanied by comprehensive show notes that are worth reading on their own.
We connect you to resources that matter: the massive LinkedIn Coworking Group, where coworking community builders share real challenges, and, of course, monthly invitations to Unreasonable Connection.
Get Involved
Subscribe to follow along. If we ever launch paid options, youâll see a pledge button. For now, the value is in the conversations themselves and the community they connect you to.
Because the hardest part isnât running a coworking space. Itâs remembering why you started one in the first place.
Remember, the strength of our communities lies in our collective efforts and shared values.
Please rate, follow, share, and leave a review for the Coworking Values Podcast; it helps our show have an even more significant impact.
It also helps people in the wider general public and your neighbourhood understand what coworking is, how it can benefit their local community, and how it can support them in building their careers, projects, and work.
